For over 23 years, JMI has helped children in Jamaica break the cycle of poverty through education. Many children can’t attend school simply because their families can’t afford uniforms, lunch money, books or transportation fees. JMI is changing that, one student at a time.

Imagine being 13 years old, unable to read, and kicked out of your home. This was reality for a young girl in Jamaica, until Jamaica Mission from Iowa stepped in. We taught her to read, gave her a home, and supported her education. Today she is a proud business woman, financing and operating her own business.
